Hey everyone!
It's Isaiah, aka Ziggy, and it's time to walk again to help get rid of Autism.
My mom has moved to working at home so she can be here more for me, although I am doing pretty good and really don't need her to hover over me all the time. I mean, a man needs to breathe!!!
Anyway, the walk is next month and my mom wanted to make sure that you guys were aware of everything. She's not at the big building anymore, so she has to do all the work by herself.... Poor mom.
We're trying to get a walk logged onto the Autism Speaks web site, and when that happens, she will let you all know so that you can sign up and get your t shirt.
Thanks for helping me. I'm available by Snapchat, if you want to see me. I am adorable.

My Haircut
You Guys thought I was gone, and like all great things, I'm Back!
We're trying to figure out a date for the fundraiser. Oh yes, we are still collecting money for Autism Speaks. Did you think my Autism went away after October 21st? We have to keep collecting and keep fighting. Plus my mom has all these baskets she has to raffle off. She is something else....
While you guys are digging for your wallets, let me share more about me. My Godmother just left this blog and had a few complaints about me not telling her what's been happening. So here you go...
Today is picture day, so of course, my mom had to take me to the barber shop. The one in Fairview Heights is open on Monday's. A true Christmas miracle. I was sitting in my chair, waiting for my turn, when the guy, The Fade King, his sign said, called me over. He said to me, "Hey big man! You want to play football for my team? You look like you'd be good." My mom said, "Do they have foot ball uniforms in my size? Cause if he plays, I play. I fight kids and parents." Fade King said, "Oh, you one of those mama's huh?" My mom said, "My son has Autism, so, he don't play without me." Fade King, "He don't have Autism." Mom (standing up) "Yes he does." Fade King (coming from behind my chair) "I've seen kids with Autism, and he ain't got it." Little Carlos (not looking up from his phone while he gets his hair cut) " Sir, please don't go there. Didn't you hear my mom say she fights kids AND their parents? I'm just trying to get a bald fade, not go to jail with my mom."
Now, my mom is a great advocate for me, I know this, and she never hesitates to teach people about what it means to live with Autism. But the Fade King almost lost his front teeth yesterday. I guess we should take it as a compliment of sorts, that he wanted me to play so bad that he would deny my Autism, but my mom is old. She can't be out on the field, flipping little kids around to keep them from getting to me. When we were leaving, Fade King made one final mistake, he asked my mom how old she is. She said, "How old do you think I am?' He knew not to answer, probably because my moms eyes flashed red. My brother and I walked out to the car before my mom. I hope the Fade King is still alive, because I really like this haircut.

First Day of School
Hey Guys!!
Today was my first day at my new school. I was so excited to get up and get started with my day. My mom packed up all my school supplies from the list my teacher sent, and we were on our way. I played with my iPad all the way to school. I thought I would see Mrs. Stein, my teacher form last year, but she wasn't there. I have a new teacher, Mrs. Becca. She met me in the hallway and she was really nice.
In my new school, there are only 8 kids in my class and there are 4 adults in the room! I never had to ask for anything because someone was always there. There's even a bathroom in the class room, so I couldn't sneak out and run to the office like I did in my old school. I don't know the other kids name yet, but they seem really nice. There is one girl in the class and the rest are boys. That's because Autism affects mostly boys. My mom, as usual, over dressed me. All the other kids had on blue jeans and jogging shorts, and I had on all white. My mom just doesn't care! She loves bleach I guess.
I played basket ball at recess and played on the bike too! I had the best day! I was tired when my dad and grandpa picked me up, so I took a quick nap in the back of the van to revive myself, I had a trampoline to jump on when I got home!
At school, they have a room full of toys! They said it was the sensory room but to me, it was Nirvana... There were swings that looked like a hammock that hugs you when you get in, there was a pit full of balls like at Chuckie Cheese, but without the feet smell, there was a skate board to sit on and things to jump on... It was too much! I can't wait to go back on Monday!
My mom didn't have the best day. Dad said she cried all day because I was with strangers. I hope she does better next week because I am definitely going back. They fixed me breakfast, I had my lunch and then I had a snack. The next thing you know, it was time to go.
Maybe she'll do better when she is running around late for work, then she won't have time to miss me. When she saw me, she kissed me almost to death. I mean really Mom! I thought we cut the cord 6 years ago....

It's about to go down....
Hey guess what?
My fund raiser is all coming together! I'm getting really excited. My mom worked with Uncle Nate this weekend and he is on board with helping too. Aunt Lisa is going to help find us some great deals on food. Autism Speaks called my mom and said that they are doing their part to help out too. This is going to be awesome!
We are going to have some really great baskets to auction off too. Hey Uncle Nate! Maybe we can get some of your famous friends to donate some autographs or something. Mom's friend Trisha, who is the master mind behind all of this, is working on more great stuff. Hotel stays, cruises, restaurants and trips: they are all being finessed as we speak......
My brother Brandon from bf Pro, he's going to be there helping out. He does music, video and photos... I can't wait!
We're having the fund raiser in St. Louis. Mom is asking that we have occupational therapists there and speech therapists as well. She said that she is going to see if the ABA therapist I see can represent her craft. That's the hardest therapy to get and insurance won't pay for it. They say it's experimental. I'm not an experiment and I have Autism. So what the heck!
My mom always says that I have the best family and village. She says that my village helps keep us centered and sane. Sometimes my mom gets so over loaded with everything. I see her crying when she thinks I'm not looking. Then she will make a call to my village and soon she's laughing. She says that there are some kids out there who don't have that support and this makes me sad. Mom also said that there are kids out there who don't have people who will take care of them if something happens to their parents, they don't have people who are fighting to get them help, telling them every day how much they are loved. Can you believe that? I have about 7 places to go if something happens to my parents. It depends on who can get to me first. Sometimes I think that my village loves me too much. I won't complain....

ABA Therapy
Well it finally happened. My mom schemed and she begged, she threatened and cried, but she finally got me in ABA therapy!
What is that? Well its applied behavioral analysis, and it assists me in improving my cognitive skills, helps me with learning things other kids my age already know how to do and it improves my social skills so I can go out and make new friends. It does so much more then that, but I'm still new in the "class" so I'll report as I go.
Sadly, my mom and my dad's insurance doesn't cover this therapy and I heard my mom say it's really expensive. I'm not quite sure how much it costs but let's just say there is another job coming up in my mom's future just to pay for it.
But back to the therapy. My mom finally found a therapist who comes to my home twice a week. Her name is Keely and she doesn't let me get away with nothing. I gave her all my best stuff and she just kept coming back for more. When school starts, she is going to go up to my new school, she is going to sit in with my IEP and she is going to work on my homework with me. I thought, "Homework?? Does she know me? My MOM does my homework." So far we are working on three step instructions, refreshing me on the things I learned last year and helping me with my hand strength. My mom said that my hands are pretty strong. Last month I had a dream that my mom had a mosquito on her cheek, so at 445 AM, I sat up in bed, turned to my mom, and slapped the gravy right out of her. Then I laid down and went back to sleep. So, I don't know why I need to work on my hands...
Anyway, it's almost 130 AM, and my mom just finished her homework. She knows I'm not going to sleep until she lays down so I guess I'll just start unplugging things until she gets the hint.
Did you buy your ticket to my fund raiser yet? No? Well, I hope I don't have dreams about mosquitos when I see you.....
